A brief update.

So I had to put 'Scent in the North' on a quick hold already, because I succeeded in screwing up my Skyrim while trying out an ENB/SweetFX manager, somehow during the deletion of a previous SweetFX profile something got deleted that made the game only show low resolution textures. A futile driver update later, I decided to bite the bullet and reinstall the game. This all was probably to my own benefit as I probably had way too many graphic mods running for my poor little laptop to handle anyway.

During reinstallation/re-modding I decided to pick 1k instead of 2k textures wherever possible, also made the switch fron the Nexus Mod Manager to Mod Organizer which is something I can recommend to everyone. (Virtual profile you can switch between at a whim? Yes please.) I also decided to follow the S.T.E.P guide together with the general tips on tesgeneral, which ended up giving me a more stable and quicker game which looked just as good as before. I was going to go back to the SweetFX, Realistic Lighting Overhaul and Pure Weather setup I had before, but noticing that the performance impact between those three and one of the more performance friendly ENBs’ was almost the same I’ve decided to switch over to an ENB without lighting and weather altering mods. Hopefully we can now get back to business.

What my Skyrim looked like before.

What it looks like now.
Screenshot was taken with Stakado Cinemascope (Real). Though I've settled on using Stakado his Cinematic ENB.

"Guides" I used during modding.
